Hi, I’m Brandi Munch (pronounced Munk). My pronouns are she/her.

I’m a Licensed Independent Social Worker (#093977) and Mental Health Therapist.

I grew up in a small town, am a first-generation college student, and have known since I was young that I wanted to help others. I graduated with my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Buena Vista University in 2006 and my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2009. I’ve worn many hats as a social worker. I’ve done everything from working in residential treatment to licensing foster parents to discharge planning at a hospital. After going through difficult life transitions, I took a break from social work for a few years to become a massage therapist and study yoga. I loved this chapter of my life; it has made me the holistic provider I am today. However, I couldn’t stay away. I returned to social work and started working in mental health in March 2020, weeks before the world shut down because of the pandemic.

As a mental health therapist, I strive to develop authentic and long-term connections. I am passionate about meeting my clients where they are and assisting in developing treatment goals so that they may lead fulfilling lives.

On a more personal note, I am a queer, fat, and sober woman. My self-care includes travel, live music, volunteering, time in nature, reading, and weight-lifting. I live in Des Moines with my cat.
